Writing Competition

Nasz Dom (Our Home) Writing Competition: "What does home mean to me?"

Nasz Dom (Our Home) is delighted to announce a creative writing competition for new and aspiring authors from ethnic minority backgrounds who have made Northern Ireland their home.

We are seeking powerful and personal stories that explore the theme "What does home mean to me?" This project aims to celebrate the rich tapestry of experiences from new communities who have settled here. Whether your story is true or imagined, we want to hear your unique voice.

We invite entries in two categories, welcoming submissions in either English or Polish. This is a fantastic opportunity for emerging writers to share their perspective and be part of a published anthology.

The Categories

1. Adult Category (18+): Short Story or Memoir Piece (Max. 1500 words)

2. Youth Category (11-17): Poetry or Short Film (Max. 5 minutes)

Prizes

Adult Category: 1st Place: £200, 2nd Place: £150, 3rd Place: £100

Youth Category:  Prizes of £200, £150, and £100 will be awarded as vouchers to the winning Saturday School, Youth Club, or Centre.

The winning adult stories and selected youth poems will be published in an anthology published by  Dom Polski as part of the Nasz Dom project. Awarded films will be shared on our social media and website.
